FLOMO/Nygala Corp.’s CEO Featured inside Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2013 Women Worth Watching Magazine Issue

TETERBORO, NJ (September, 21, 2012) – FLOMO is proud to announce that their President & CEO, Wendy Shen, was featured as one of the 2013 Women Worth Watching inside the Profiles in Diversity Journal magazine September/October 2012 issue.

The profiles feature a wide range of over 100 successful female business leaders including CEO’s, CFO’s, COO’s, Directors, Vice Presidents, and Managers from all over the world. The editors asked each woman about how they built their success, how education plays a role in their career, and their opinion on how young people can prepare for their future and careers better.

Wendy Shen explained what she thinks schools should do to better help prepare young students for their future, “Schools should add leadership/business classes or extra-curricular clubs to their mandatory core curriculum to help students build confidence in the workplace with knowledge of various industries and analytical thinking.”

Shen also explained how after-school programs can be positive for students to learn while having fun after the typical school day is over, “Growing up, I learned the importance of helping others in an after-school program where we helped those with special needs. Teachers can help by being involved in clubs and getting more students to sign up. Being part of a team or group will make children feel more meaningful while they have fun with friends. Even having a cookie sale to raise money for a special organization teaches children how to set up events, sales techniques to raise money, and think creatively toward promoting a specific initiative.”

FLOMO/Nygala Corp. currently sponsors and supports the Girl Scouts in NJ and Shen insists that other businesses can find ways to show their support to group organizations by giving one of her company’s past programs as an example, “FLOMO/Nygala Corp., has created a special program for the Girl Scouts called, “Future CEO”. We take a group of girls on a tour of our headquarters and teach them about the fundamentals of business and roles of a CEO. To make it even more fun, the 2-day program concludes with a group project where the girls can create their own products.”
