The BIG Concert Adds Six New Performers to Daytime Talent Line-Up


Local Acts Join Joe Jonas, Sara Bareilles and Rachel Crow at Day-Long Festival. The Girl Scout Councils of New Jersey announced today that they have added six new acts to the daytime talent lineup for The BIG Concert on June 23, 2012 at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J. This day-long event, which is open to adults and children of all ages, will culminate in evening concerts from Grammy nominated artist and celebrity judge on the hit show “The Sing Off,” Sara Bareilles and pop star Joe Jonas of the band The Jonas Brothers. All net proceeds from The BIG Concert will benefit The Girl Scout Councils of N.J. as they celebrate their 100th anniversary.

“We are excited to announce these great new additions to our daytime talent lineup,” said Helen Wronski, president and chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey. “With 100 exciting activities, the wealth of talent joining us for this milestone event, and a spectacular fireworks show over the New York Harbor, The BIG Concert is this summer’s can’t-miss event!”
There will be daytime performances from “The X Factor” finalist and newly signed Nickelodeon star, Rachel Crow, as well as from the following acts just added to the line-up:
• Girl group Bloom, whose songs have been featured on MTV’s “The Hills,” and whose past performances include the NCAA Fan Fest in Newark, N.J. and The Girl Scout Councils of N.J.’s Bridging Event
• Female Pop Singer, Manika, who will also be performing at The Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital’s Rock the Mall event in June 2012
• The group Savvy (AKA: The Wannabes), a singing and dancing group signed to Universal Republic with an upcoming new single who have a TV show on STARZ’s Family Channel called The Wannabes
• Recently signed New Jersey Boy Band, Goodbye Friday, who will also be performing with Ryan Cabrera on April 15, 2012 at the Stanhope House in Stanhope, New Jersey
• Pop Singer, Stephanie Marie, with singles, “I’m That Girl” and “Turn It Up”
• Ani Hesse, Californian Girl Scout whose previous performances include singing the National Anthem at a Lakers game and who will be performing at The Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital’s Rock The Mall event in June 2012

The six newly announced daytime acts will be participating in meet-and-greets and signing autographs at The BIG Concert.
Tickets are on sale now at www.thebigconcertnj.com and are priced at $89.50 per ticket for current Girl Scout members and $101.50 for nonmembers. The per ticket price covers the cost of entry, all daytime performances, the evening concert, on-site activities and parking. All net proceeds from The BIG Concert will benefit The Girl Scout Councils of N.J. as they celebrate their 100th anniversary.
The day-long event will include 100 activities taking place at the historic and scenic Liberty State Park, which features 1,122 acres of open space and panoramic views of The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the New York Harbor. Activities include evening concerts by Sara Bareilles and Joe Jonas, daytime performances by Rachel Crow and local acts, a fireworks display over the New York Harbor, an A.C. Moore Craft Zone, a cooking pavilion including cupcake decorating classes and demos, a tech pavilion featuring the latest hands-on devices, more than a dozen bounce houses, rockwall climbing, and much more! All participants will also receive a commemorative BIG Concert event t-shirt. Sponsors include Sports Authority, EF Educational Tours, and FLOMO.
