Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno Visits New Jersey Woman-owned and Minority-owned Business, FLOMO®

Fun WIth Flo and Mo: Ep. 1, Tissue Paper Pom Poms - FLOMO/Nygala Corp.

In this episode of Flo and Mo, our experts show you how to make a fun and simple party directions with little effort and even littler cost! 

1) Take some tissue paper (choose your favorite color! ) and do an accordion fold. Then attach your pipe cleaner to the center of your tissue paper. 

2) Carefully, pull each sheet away from the rest, one by one. This will slowly begin to fill out. Do the same on the other side.

3) Your end result should be a fun, fluffy pom pom that you can use as a hanging decoration, table center piece, and more!

Inspiration: Here are some ideas to get you started…

• Add items that you know your mom likes, examples are makeup, bath and body accessories, scrapbooking supplies, some of her favorite flowers, assorted flavor tea bags, Keurig cups, hair accessories, ipad accessories, jewelry, home office or desk supplies, and more!
• Choose a size that will fit your types of gifts. Bigger isn’t always better. Just by putting together a customized gift set, she’ll appreciate it whether it’s in a big basket, or a small mug.
• Personalize the container you will put all your gifts in. You can use a paint pen or marker to write her name, “Mom”, or “Happy Mother’s Day 2013”
• If you are on a budget, go to a dollar store or discount store to pick up the small gifts. You would be surprise how big of a variety of items you can find all in one place.
• Share this contest with friends so you can all get together to make gift sets. It will give you all something to do together while having fun and making something special for mom, aunt or grandma.

WCTC & FLOMO® UNITE TO HELP NEW JERSEY STUDENTS

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (January 20, 2013) – There is no better way to start off a new year than with new supplies! That is exactly what two lucky New Jersey classrooms will be doing, thanks to a special contest by the state’s most listened-to news talk radio show, 1450 AM WCTC and a Bergen-county based everyday and seasonal product manufacturer and distributor, FLOMO®. “New Jersey TODAY” heard locally on 1450 AM WCTC and statewide at WCTCAM.com, and FLOMO®, a leading provider of quality school supplies, organized a statewide contest where every student from two lucky New Jersey classrooms would each receive their own back-to-school backpack. 

Each backpack was loaded with supplies that every student needs, including pencils, pens, crayons, notebook, rulers, binder, pencil sharpener, Eco Erasers, and much more generously donated by FLOMO®. “We believe in the importance of education and that children should have adequate school supplies to use in their school years. FLOMO is proud to help and donate whatever we can,” says FLOMO President & CEO, Wendy Shen. WCTC and FLOMO® accepted contest nomination submissions from classrooms throughout the state; the nominations were open to parents, teachers, administrators, and even the students themselves. 

In October, two winning classrooms were selected at random from the nominations; a 2^nd grade class at Faber School in Dunellen, taught by Ms. Sherri Krauss, and a 3^rd grade class at Academy Street School in Dover, taught by Ms. Lyndsay George. Following a delay caused by Hurricane Sandy, the students from each winning classroom received their backpacks during presentation ceremonies which were held at the winning schools. “It’s great to be able to help some Jersey students”, says Bert Baron, WCTC’s Program Director, and host of New Jersey TODAY. “As a kid who went to public school here in Jersey, I know that having good supplies to use every day is vital for academic success.”

Both WCTC and FLOMO are looking forward to repeating the contest for many years to come!
